Waste management is an important process that consists of various sub-processes such as collection, transportation, processing, disposal, managing, reuse and monitoring of waste materials. A smart waste management system solves a lot of problems, like air pollution, the piling up of garbage in the streets, the spread of contagious diseases due to poor garbage maintenance, inefficient waste collection, etc. Level detection sensors are used to indicate the level of the garbage to the garbage removal truck driver’s smart phone once the garbage reaches a certain level that is set by the management of the system. This greatly contributes to the country’s smart infrastructure [10] . IoT infrastructure needs to be brought to action in different areas of waste management. The main aspect of the sensors used in smart waste management is to sense essential data like the quantity of garbage, types of garbage, and send it to the system either in a direct way or an indirect way through the nearby communication devices attached to the cloud server and the devices connected to the smart city system as in Fig. 2 . This system maintains biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste separately. This will help to reduce the likelihood of the garbage bin overflowing and, as a result, keep our environment clean [9] . This type of network, which consists of sensors and data collection, would aid in the effective orga- nization of various waste management processes, such as determining the level of filling at which collection should take place and classifying garbage types. IoT paves the way for a fully coordinated system with a much broader view and a database system to keep the environment clean.
